That wicked witch

The poppy symbolizes death, sleep, peace.

Ironic that death and sleep are symbolized by the same thing.

My friends dad once said, "all she does is hide up in her room and she sleeps"

Because teenagers do that.

Search for peace.

And we find that in our solitude.

Away from the rest of them.

Without the clouded minds of others to tell us our opinions are invalid.

Peace is empowering.

When your soul is finally at rest, there is no thing greater.

Really the Greeks did our time a disservice having peace, sleep, and death being symbolized by the same flower. 

In search of peace we confuse the difference between sleep and death.

And we believe that peace will be found after we are gone.

But what is peace if we can not enjoy it while we are living.

Because taking your life leaves no peace for the living.

And I think I've finally realized why the wicked witch of the west used poppies to put them to sleep.

Maybe she too hoped they would be confused.
